Install on your phone

Apps from this site aren't in the Play Store, so Android asks a few extra questions the first time. It takes about a minute.

1. Download the app

   On the app's page, tap the red Download button.

   Chrome may say “File might be harmful” or “This type of file can harm your device”. It says this about every app file downloaded outside the Play Store. Tap Download anyway.

2. Open the downloaded file

   When it finishes, tap Open in the message at the bottom of the screen.

   Missed it? Open the Files app (or My Files on Samsung) → Downloads, or in Chrome tap ⋮ → Downloads, and tap the file ending in .apk.

3. Allow installs from this source first time only

   Android shows: “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source.”

   Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then press Back. The install screen comes back.

   Settings → Apps → ⋮ (top right) → Special access → Install unknown apps → Chrome → Allow.

   Tecno · Infinix · itel

   Settings → Apps (or Apps & notifications) → Special app access → Install unknown apps → Chrome → Allow from this source.

   Xiaomi · Redmi · POCO

   Settings → Privacy protection (or Additional settings → Privacy) → Special permissions → Install unknown apps → Chrome → Allow.

   Nokia · Motorola · Pixel · others

   Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps → Chrome → Allow from this source.

   Android 7 or older

   Settings → Security → turn on Unknown sources.

   If you downloaded with another app — Opera, Files, WhatsApp — allow that app instead of Chrome.

4. Scan and install

   Tap Install. Depending on your phone, one of these may appear first:

   • Play Protect offers to scan the app (“Scan app” or “Send app for security check?”) — tap Scan app / Send. It takes a few seconds; then tap Install.
   • “Unsafe app blocked” or “Blocked by Play Protect” — Play Protect says this about apps it hasn't seen from the Play Store. Tap More details → Install anyway.
   • Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO security check — wait for the scan to finish, tick the box if there is one, then tap Continue installation or Install.
   • Tecno / Infinix “Phone Master” scan — let it finish, then tap Install or Continue.

   Only choose “Install anyway” for apps you downloaded from yourvjapp.com — check the address in your browser.

5. Open the app

   Tap Open. The app is also on your home screen or in your app drawer now.

   Tidy up: you can delete the downloaded .apk file from Downloads — the app stays installed. For extra safety you can also switch Allow from this source back off; Android will simply ask again next time.
